SCOTT: When I lived in England from 1993 to 1994.
LORI: I guess I started casually drinking white Zinfandel at get-togethers, but really became interested in wine when we started going to tastings. I didn't know how organic and different each variety could be until I started doing side-by-side varietal tastings.
SCOTT: I hope it can teach people how fun wine can be and how it can pair differently with food.
SCOTT: While vacationing in Napa in 2007, we visited Rombauer vineyards and had an El Dorado Zinfandel. It blew me away. More recently, a wine that really impressed me is the St. Helena 2008 Sympa Cabernet Sauvignon.
LORI: I wouldn't say a specific wine, as much as it was awe on my first property tour of a winery. Being out in the vines with the grapes, drinking a glass of wine and learning about the history of the vines and the vineyard, the types of soil, the weather and moisture and elevations, and how all of these factors affect the grapes was so fascinating.
SCOTT: Watching the Somm documentaries, reading wine magazines, and wine tours in California.
LORI: For the most part, learning about wine has been through doing tastings, whether that is our own tasting with friends, or at a winery. I've loved going to different wineries across the country to experience the perspective of different wineries and how they produce their wines.
SCOTT: I have visited Napa, Sonoma, Lodi, Amador, Dry Creek, Paso Robles, Monterey, Temecula, North Carolina, New York, Michigan, Texas hill country, and some Minnesota and Wisconsin wineries. My favorite region is probably Napa/Sonoma.
LORI: I've been to wineries in different areas of California, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Tennessee. I would say I have two favorite regions for wine; Lodi and Dry Creek Valley, both in California, but I love the beauty of any region with a tasting room at a vineyard. There's just something wonderful about drinking a glass of wine outdoors while looking at the vines where they were picked.
SCOTT: I just want to continue to travel to different wine regions and continue to grow my wine experiences. I'd also like to travel to Italy, France, and Spain some day.
LORI: We have some great friends who live in Tennessee that we plan to wine Zoom.

LORI: I would absolutely love to go to Italy and walk through the vineyards and experience the history of winemaking there.
